About Kevin Burkholder


Kevin was destined to be a railroad photographer after growing up on Railroad Street in Myerstown, PA, just a few short blocks from the Reading Railroad turned Conrail. With the first photos at the age of 6 with a little 110 camera of the changeover from Reading to Conrail, the stage was set for a lengthy tenure in photography. Professional photography includes photojournalism and photos in the following magazines: Trains, Railfan & Railroad, Railpace, CTC Board - Railroads Illustrated, Pacific Rail News (now retired...), Diesel Era and others. Commerical photography clients include: Global Partners, LP; LB Foster Co.; Steel Dynamics, Inc.; RailAmerica; Canadian Pacific Railway; Vermont Rail System; Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway; Conrail; Canadian National Railway; State of Vermont and many others.

The annual fall foliage dome car addition to the Amtrak Adirondack train was complimented this year by its arrival in the Phase III paint. Amtrak also assigned the Phase III P42DC 145 to the Adirondack service to be mated with the dome car runs. On September 27, the Amtrak Adirondack train 68 is passing the Canadian Customs station - the train is still in Canada at this point, the photographer is in the US!. The annual fall foliage dome car addition to the Amtrak Adirondack train was complimented this year by its arrival in the Phase III paint. Amtrak also assigned the Phase III P42DC 145 to the Adirondack service to be mated with the dome car runs. On September 27, the Amtrak Adirondack train 68 is seen rolling south through Cantic, Quebec on Canadian National's Rouses Point Subdivision as it passes the switch to the CN Swanton Sub in splendid morning sun.
